How long does it take to create a portrait?

This is totally dependent on which style of portrait you decide to choose! All portraits are hand-drawn, however pastel and graphite portraits require a significant amount of time to complete due to the level of intricacy realism artwork calls for. Hours and days are poured into these pieces to capture all of your pet's details! Although digital pieces require a shorter amount of time to complete, I always strive for quality to ensure these portraits will look great hanging in your home or on whatever you decide to put your digital creation on!

What materials do you use?

I only use professional grade materials to guarantee high-quality artwork that will last for years and years to come.

Paper:
For graphite drawings, I use Arches Hot pressed Watercolor paper or Stonehenge Drawing paper. Both papers are a beautiful light cream color, 100% cotton, and archival grade (paper resistent to deterioration due to an alkaline papermaking process). For pastel drawings I use Pastelmat, which holds a legendary reputation among the world's foremost pastelists. Pastelmat comes in various colors, has an organic surface derived from cellulose plant fibersm, and is acid-free/neutral pH grade.

Pencils:
I use Faber-Castell for both graphite and pastel pencils, one of the world's oldest and leading manufacturer of wood-cased pencils. Their graphite pencils have superior leads made of finely ground graphite and clay while their pastel pencils have excellent light resistance, color brilliance, and are wax and oil free.

Protection:
Glassine paper is used during the creation of portraits and when preparing for shipping. Glassine paper is a translucent, pH-neutral paper that is air, water, and grease resistant. I use it during drawing to protect the portrait from smudging, elements, etc. and I attach it to the front of your portrait before shipping to prevent rubbing and contact with the inside of the mailer - please don't discard the glassine paper when you receive your portrait! Make sure to read the care instructions insert I send with your artwork.

Do you only draw pets?

For now, I'm focusing on arkwork centered around pets. I've always had a huge love for animals (I actually wanted to be a vet when I was little!) and grew up with pets my entire life, so I know just how incredible these furry family members are. I hope to bring joy into people's lives by creating pieces that remind them of the joy their furry friend brings them.

But stay tuned! Figure studies classes were my absolute favorite courses to take in college, so I may branch out later down the line!

What is your processing time?

All orders are processed within 3-7 business days for non-customized products. Custom artworks are processed within 10+ business days after payment is made in full (digital portraits) or the deposit is paid (for graphite and pastel portraits only). Digital portraits will be completed and files will be sent (following your approval of the finished product) within 10 business days. For graphite and pastel portraits, there is an estimated  1 - 6 week window from booked start date to portrait completion. Please note this time frame is also dependent on how many orders are placed before your order; commissions are processed and completed in chronological order. Once you have approved of the final portrait and when the remaining balance is paid, your order will then be shipped.

How does shipping work?

Shipping is available within the US only at this time. First class shipping is offered on all orders; priority mail may be purchased at an additional cost for commission pieces only. Once your order has shipped, you will receive a confirmation email with a tracking number to the email address you provided at time of checkout (with the exception of sticker purchases). Stickers are shipped free and are sent via letters therefore no tracking number is provided; often they are processed and sent out at the same time or faster than a package.

Although I make every effort to ensure artwork and commissions are packaged safely, I am not liable for any issues (i.e., mishandling, damage, or failed delivery by the shipping service) that may occur during the delivery process. Additionally, please be aware that transit delays due to things like severe weather, holidays, the pandemic, courier transit errors, etc. are not within my control. While I will try my best to help in these situations, I am not responsible for lost or stolen packages delayed in transit.

By processing your payment and completing an order through the Site, you accept the above mentioned terms and conditions relating to shipping and delivery for your order.

What is your return policy?

Cancellations
For non-customized products, you may cancel your order within 24 hours. After 24 hours, a 15% re-stocking fee will be applied and you must cover the return shipping fee if the item has already been shipped out. For customized artwork, cancellation can be made before the portrait has been started, however, the 30% deposit payment is non-refundable. This covers the materials and supplies purchased to create the portrait as well as any work that has been initiated (i.e., drafts).

Returns
I don't accept returns or exchanges, but please contact me if you have any issues with your order!
